Standup time scheduling poll
Find the fifteen minutes that works for the whole team.
A scheduling poll for a daily standup: everyone marks the fifteen-minute times they could make on a usual weekday morning, and the best time rises to the top. The grid says which time zone it's in, so anyone elsewhere knows to count the difference.

An example
- Mondays, 9:15 am – 9:30 am · everyone (9 of 9)
- Tuesdays, 9:00 am – 9:30 am · 8 of 9 · Sam can't make it
- Thursdays, 10:00 am – 10:15 am · 8 of 9
How to set it up
- Check the zone and hoursIt asks about weekday mornings, 7:00 to noon, in fifteen minutes. The form uses your browser's time zone; say in the description which one that is.
- Send it to the teamPaste the link in your team chat. Nobody needs an account.
- Look for a whole weekA standup is every day, so look for a time that's good on all five. “Only times everyone can make” greys out the rest.
- Tell the teamA days-of-the-week poll has no date to lock in. Put the time in your calendar invite and close the poll.
What helps
- If the team spans time zones, give the hours in both in the description, like “9:00 am Toronto is 6:00 am Vancouver”.
- Fifteen-minute blocks match how long a standup should last. A best time that's longer just means there's room either side.
- Turn on “Hide who picked what until you close it” if you'd rather people didn't pick a time to match their manager.
- Ask people to mark the times they could make most days, not just their best day. A standup that suits Mondays only isn't much use.

Questions people ask
- What about people in other time zones?
- The poll is in one time zone and says which. Put the conversion for the other zones in the description, so nobody has to work it out.
- Why days of the week rather than dates?
- Because a standup is a regular time. People answer “Mondays at 9:15” rather than one particular Monday.
- Can I see who'd miss each option?
- Yes. Every best time names whoever can't make it, unless you've chosen to hide names until you close it.
