What helps

Be specific about sizes and brands only where it matters: “a box of 12” stops a single pencil arriving, but most teachers don't mind the brand.
Families can claim more than one at a time. If a row needs ten boxes, one family taking three is fine, and the count says so.
For a whole-school drive, make a sheet for each grade, so each one's list stays short and easy to scan.
Some families would rather give money than shop. If someone is collecting it, say who in the description.
