How to set it up
- Set the nightsIt starts with six Fridays, 6:30 to 9:00 pm, three drivers each. Change the times to cover pick-up and drop-off.
- Check your policyPut your church's rules for drivers in the description, like a background check or two adults per car.
- Send it to approved driversShare the link with the adults who've been cleared to drive. Nobody needs an account.
- Match riders to carsWork out who rides with whom away from the page. Your private link shows each driver's note with their seats.
What helps
- Many churches ask for two adults in any car with young people. If yours does, set two places per car rather than one.
- Keep children's names and addresses off the page entirely. Anyone with the link can see it.
- Ask drivers to say in their note whether they have booster seats.
- Drivers who leave an email get each Friday in their calendar, which beats a text on the day.
Something to send with the link
Copy it into a text, an email or the group chat, change what you like, and paste your link at the end.
Questions people ask
- Does it ask for the young people's names?
- No. Only the adults who drive sign up. Pages for a faith group ask whoever makes them to enter adults' names only, and ask people to keep personal details out of their notes.
- Where do drivers say how many seats they have?
- In the note when they sign up. Only you and anybody helping you run the page see it.
- Can I share it with approved drivers only?
- Anyone with the link can open it, so share it with the drivers you've approved and not more widely. A paid plan can add a PIN to the page.
